Enterprising PLCs: Giving Teachers Ownership

This session explains the journey of our school's transformation through the establishment of teacher-led, focused, and heterogeneous Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). We will explain how teachers assessed the needs of our school and formed PLCs to meet those needs using the enterprise learning process. Ultimately, this session demonstrates how PLCs empower teachers to take ownership of school improvement.

Tameka Sumter is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She earned both her undergraduate degree in English and graduate degree in Education from the University. She has been employed in the district for nine years and successfully taught middle and high school.
